The town of Lochem and its surroundings, in the northern part of the Achterhoek in the eastern Netherlands, is known as a lovely place to live. The village of Gorssel is situated on the IJssel, the most beautiful river in the Netherlands, halfway between the charming old Hanseatic towns of Deventer and Zutphen. From about a century ago, Lochem and Gorssel became popular with wealthy entrepreneurs who wanted to build new residences in a pleasant natural environment. The many beautiful villas and country houses in our working area date from that period. This rural and wooded part of the country, with towns and villages such as Borculo, Diepenheim, Ruurlo and Vorden, offers a quiet place of residence full of natural beauty within travelling distance from the hustle and bustle in the Randstad.
